COVID-19

Isolation - If you have tested positive for COVID-19

  • Stay at home and isolate from others as much as possible for 5 days.

  • If you have no symptoms or your symptoms are resolving after 5 days, you may leave isolation.

  • You should continue to wear a mask around others for an additional 5 days.

  •  If you have a fever, continue to isolate at home until your fever resolves for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication.

  • If possible, notify those you have had close contact with about quarantine guidelines.

  • Public Health will contact you about your symptoms and close contacts.

  • Monitor your symptoms and close contacts.

Quarantine - For those who have had close contact with someone who as tested positive for COVID-19.

Close contact is being within 6 feet of someone who can spread COVID-19 for more that 15 cumulative minutes in a 24 hour period. People are believed to be able to spread COVID-19 for 2 days before their symptoms start until, at least, 5 days after their symptoms begin.

Quarantine IS required after close contact with someone that has COVID-19 for the following individuals.

  • You are age 18 or older and completed the primary series of recommended vaccine, but have not received a recommended booster shot when eligible.

  • You received the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine (completing the primary series) over 2 months ago and have not received a recommended booster shot.

  • You are not vaccinated or have not completed a primary vaccine series and have not had confirmed COVID-19 within the past 90 days (you did not test positive using a COVID-19 test).

Stay home and away from other people for at least 5 days after your last contact with a person who has COVID-19. Wear a well-fitting mask when around others at home, if possible. If you do not develop symptoms, get tested after 5 days have a passed since your last close contact. If the test is negative, you can leave your home, but wear a well-fitted mask around others for 10 days from your last close contact. If you develop symptoms, contact your Healthcare Provider and seek testing.

Quarantine is NOT required after close contact for the following individuals.

  • You are age 18 or older and have received all recommended vaccine doses, including boosters and additional primary shots for some immunocompromised people. 

  • You are ages 5-17 years and completed the primary series of COVID-19 vaccines

  • You had confirmed COVID-19 within the last 90 days (you tested positive using a COVID-19 test).

You should wear a well-fitting mask around others for 10 days from the date of your last close contact and get tested at least 5 days after your last close contact or if you develop symptoms. If you test positive isolate from others.​
